ABOUT

Edie is a London-based artist whose practice sits between photography and ceramics, shaped by a dialogue between time, touch and emotional experience. Working with clay and analogue photography, she explores how thoughts and feelings can be held physically as well as mentally, particularly in relation to ADHD and anxiety. She is interested in how material processes can slow or regulate attention, allowing space for reflection and grounding. Clay records touch, pressure and hesitation, while film photography captures brief, fragmentary moments.
In her installation Set in Stone (2025), Edie combined ceramic forms with collaged photographic decals and moving image projection. The shifting projection interacts with textured clay surfaces, fragmenting the image as light moves across the material. The work draws on phenomenological ideas of embodied perception, particularly the writing of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, and embraces cracks, seams and imperfections as part of the emotional and physical process of making.
