SOME IDEAS AND NOTES FROM THE DALI EXHIBITON

After seeing the Dali exhibition in Paris recently, I became fascinated by surrealism. Unlike other art movements, it feels completely unrestrained and allows the artist to break free from logic and tradition. Many of Dali’s ideas were inspired by dream-like interpretations of the world around him, which is something I’ve found interesting to bring into my own work. My aim is to embrace the subconscious imagination more, encouraging a more instinctive and personal approach to making art. Dali’s Lobster Telephone famously transformed a mundane object into a surreal icon, questioning its function and forcing viewers to reconsider its meaning. This body of work similarly explores this effect between familiarity and absurdity, using clay to strip objects of their practical roles and reposition them.

Bunch magazine reached out to me through my instagram platform:
‘The concept of Bunch magazine is about finding art in the mundanity of everyday life, using the ordinary as a way to find creativity and storytelling. I think your work grasps this idea so perfectly in the way you photograph friends and people, places you visit.’
